Water-Borne Products
Where there is critical concern with regard to compliance with tougher regulations on restricting solvent-based coating products, there is environmentally friendly Fluorolast WB. Both WB coatings formulations are made with latex fluoroelastomer and contain less than 1% VOC’s. While not quite the overall heavyweight that the Fluorolast SB line is, high solids (65% by weight) Fluorolast WB coatings still offer very strong performance potential. WB coatings are spray-able, two-component systems that, in many service conditions can provide endless years of excellent corrosion resistance. Clean up is done with just soap and water, which is easy on spray equipment and personnel alike.

Fluorolast® WB-200 Series
Room Temperature Curable - Water-Borne Coatings

The WB-200 Series of coatings were designed to provide an ambient or ‘room temperature’ curable, water-borne fluoroelastomer coating. Even though these coatings are ambient curable, the catalyzed coatings still have a pot life of many days. The WB-200 coatings have outstanding heat, chemical, and weather resistance.

While the WB-200 Series was designed for ambient cure, it can also be cured at elevated temperatures. The cure time becomes proportionately shorter as the temperature is increased.

The WB-200 Series is suitable for many industrial applications, especially when a heated cure is not possible. These coatings are suitable for external structures such as sheet metal and also on overhead pipes and vessels where corrosive vapors and condensate cause damage (see WB Physical Property Data). WB-200 coatings were used on the outside of the LeBaron Foundry bag houses (see accompanying illustration).
